Glass of cherry champagne cocktail with fresh cherry garnish on vintage table

Cherry Champagne Cocktail – Easy Vintage Party Drink

I think champagne pairs with any meal, even corn dogs in the park, and maraschino cherries seemed like the perfect way to sweeten up an already romantic drink, so I used a splash of maraschino cherry syrup to make a delicious champagne cocktail, topped with decadent cherries.

The key to it all is a quality maraschino cherry, and whatever you do don’t use those cheap neon ones you see everywhere.

I openly admit to being bit of a cherry snob, and I won’t go into it too much here, but if you’d like to know more about quality maraschinos, click the button below for my nerdy cherry rant :

But the brand I highly recommend is Luxardo. They actually invented the maraschino cherry, so you won’t find a more authentic, delicious way to craft cocktails or top desserts. And you can actually get them right on TikTok or Amazon cheaper than in the grocery store, so click the link below if you’d like to try a better way to top your treats.

Cherry Champagne Cocktail (Vintage Recipe)

This vintage Cherry Champagne Cocktail is a nostalgic twist on classic bubbly. Made with cherry syrup and sparkling wine, it's perfect for holidays or retro celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cherry syrup (from a jar of Amarena cherries or Luxardo cherries)
  • 1 bottle chilled champagne or sparkling wine
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: Amarena or Luxardo cherry for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add a few ice cubes to a cocktail shaker.
  2. Pour in 1/4 cup cherry syrup and shake gently to chill.
  3. Strain into a coupe or champagne flute.
  4. Top with chilled champagne.
  5. Garnish with a cherry, if desired.

Notes

This cocktail is inspired by mid-century recipes found in vintage community cookbooks. For the best flavor, use high-quality syrupy cherries like Luxardo or Amarena brands.
