How to Make Self-Rising Flour at Home – Quick DIY Guide

Don’t have self rising flour in the pantry? Don’t worry, it’s super easy to whip up a batch at home. 

I just shared a recipe for Whipping Cream biscuits that called for self-rising flour, and if you’re like me, it’s not something you keep on hand. Even though I regularly stock at least 4 different kinds of flour, there are a few reasons I don’t. 

The first being I rarely use it, but more importantly, I really really care about the quality of flour I use, and even though my favorite, King Arthur, does actually make an amazing unbleached self-rising flour, I can never find it at my local store, and every other brand is made from bleached flour. 

So, I don’t compromise, I just make my own, and you can too. All it takes is blending your favorite all-purpose flour with baking powder and salt. That’s it! There’s really no reason to compromise.
